So all three of my boys wore their Colorado Rockies gear today. How on earth could I pass up THAT Kodak moment?! I called them all inside. I made them all sit in front of the fireplace.
They were thrilled to accommodate me. Boys are like that. You bring out the camera, and suddenly they all want to be RIGHT THERE! RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE LENS!
Right after they roll their eyeballs into the backs of their heads and sigh about HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO TAKE? And I’M MISSING AN NHL PLAYOFF GAME! And IF I SMILE NICELY, CAN I HAVE A BOWL OF CEREAL, BECAUSE I’M STILL HUNGRY, EVEN THOUGH DINNER WAS JUST AN HOUR AGO.
I have to give a little shout-out to Carrie, who actually lives in the land of the Rockies. And the Broncos. And the Avalanche. She did some shopping and mailed the boys some baseball gear, because this is Small Town, USA and let’s face it: We’re more concerned with having a bar on every corner and a good rodeo in the summer than we are with having a shopping mall. The shopping industry here is rather limited, but low! We do not have Denver’s traffic, and for that we all dance before Jesus and rejoice.
And if I had been thinking, I would have fed those
three two boys ball park hotdogs tonight for dinner, instead of the leftovers we reheated.
Happy Tuesday, people.
